Research
My research centers on the relationship between public culture, emotion, and social and political change with an emphasis on aesthetics, the materiality of communications, and social justice. I am interested in how interior life—whether in the mode of emotion, affect, sentiment, or sensibility—is shaped and mobilized through the public sphere in historical and contemporary contexts. My work is transdisciplinary and spans social and political thought, feminism, media and cultural studies, and critical studies of race, disability, and sexuality.
